Freed Cabin

This project consisted involved a complete remodel to incorporate more modern materials and features while maintaining the cabin’s original rustic feel. A large part of the project was lifting the cabin over 13 feet to add a basement and a new, retrofitted foundation to make it a more permanent structure. We also implemented Green Building methods such as installing additional windows for passive solar benefits. The kitchen counter-tops were made from recycled paper and we reused the left-over siding as trim to prevent waste. Some trees removed on the property were also reused in the construction and in the finish.
